Spring Has Sprung in Provo, UT

So. It has happened. What is happening now in Provo is what happens in Tennessee (only slightly less beautiful because Tennessee is just plain gorgeous in the springtime). The grass creeps out onto the sidewalks, onto muddy pathways, into dry dirt and everywhere else. Flowers are peeking out of their hiding places in their nice brown beds. Some are holding their heads high, flashing their colorful faces at passerbys. The popcorn trees have erupted. Yes, even the popcorn trees whose blossoms are reminiscent of that delightful movie time snack have bloomed in their full glory, and other trees seem to compete - who will have the most blossoms this year? Who? Every tree on campus is showing off to students walking below their lofty branches, waving in the wind as if to draw attention to their fluffy flowered hands. The smell of rain wafts through the air, cold and crisp. I jump in a puddle as I make my way to Taco Bell with my friend Cody. We each devour a Mike Black Burrito - the BYU special. We step outside and breathe. Spring has sprung in Provo, UT.

These pictures I took of a magnolia (?) tree near the Museum of Art on campus. Mom, Claire, don't kill me if I got the name wrong. For all I know, this could be an Australian Pink Daisy.

All is well. Spring has sprung.

Sound matrix instructions: Click on the squares and watch the music magic happen. Double click and drag, and you'll be able to highlight a whole line or area of sqaures. Aunt Stacie, you'd like this I think :)

Best distraction EVER? I think so.

News and Lessons Learned

1. News: My roommate Claire is engaged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
SOOOoOOOOOOoooOOOoOOOOooooOOOOOOOO crazy!!!!!!!!!!
Who the guy is: an RM (went to Brazil, fluent in Portuguese, Latin American Studies major) who had been in her home ward since they were both like, in primary, so they knew each other but never KNEW each other, know what I'm sayin, eh? ;) They started dating in December and a day never went by when they didn't hang out or study together. It was destiny. ALL of us roommates approved of him even before they started thinking about marriage. He loves having fun and making people feel happy. But he also cares about Claire SO much. You can see it in his eyes.
Claire's ring is SO pretty. Just know that my roommate is one lucky gal to spend eternity with such a great guy. Both of them had had many dating experiences that fell through before and they both knew what they wanted. I sure do love ya Claire! Woohoo!
2. Lessons learned: NEVER stop at the first ride. What do I mean by this? Dating = looking for someone to marry. NEVER stop at the first flavor, the first experience, the first guy (RM) you date. EXPERIENCE. TASTE. DIVULGE yourself. You're going to be spending ETERNITY with the guy you choose to marry. Choose well. That means LOOK AT YOUR OPTIONS! STOP dating someone if it doesn't feel right. END it. DON'T stop looking.

I can't wait for next fall for new experiences and new choices.

Tennessee, I'm coming soon and I'm counting down!! Yeehaw!!
